We are pleased to offer this 1962 Ford Thunderbird convertible showing 99,981 miles. A California black plate car until 2004 when it moved to Georgia, it shows to a “survivor” driver standard and is presented in its attractive and original color combination of corinthian white over pearl beige. This is a highly-optioned example with power windows, power driver’s seat, factory “SelectAire” air conditioning and rear wheel shields — these accompany the standard features for 1962 which include the 390 Thunderbird V8 and swing-away steering wheel.
We believe the paint to be mostly original and have found no signs of corrosion or repair on the body panels or underside – with the exception of some rust in the rear channel of the tonneau lid. New upholstery and carpet were installed in 2004. Service during the current ownership has included front-end work, shocks, mufflers, generator, starter, battery, distributor, coil, carburetor, valve stem seals, brake booster rebuild and more.
This is a running and driving car but could benefit from some cosmetic and mechanical freshening. The convertible top is operating smoothly and correctly. The power windows, AM radio and power seat are working; the A/C is not.
